Canadian speed skater Ted-Jan Bloemen has become the first Olympic Athlete to be paid via the popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin.
The speed skater has signed a one-year sponsorship deal with cryptocurrency-focused social network onG.social.
Bloemen took to social media to confirm the deal via the following tweet.

The double world record holder will share his Olympic journey on G.social and will be compensated in the cryptocurrency Bitcoin.
